The discipline is introduced in the curriculum to familiarize students with the scientific foundations of molecular and cellular biology, the principles of organization of the spatial structure of biological macromolecules and subcellular components and methods of establishing the spatial structure of these objects.
The discipline forms in the future specialist in nanobiotechnology comprehensive competencies in the application of methods of molecular and cellular biology, methods of processing, analysis and synthesis of information, and obtaining knowledge about the possibilities of studying the structure of biological objects such as macromolecules, organelles and cells.
As a result of the course "Introduction to Cellular and Molecular Biology", students acquire knowledge of modern structural methods and the results of their application to establish the spatial structure of macromolecules, and with the applications of molecular biology, including database searching and using protein structures to understand the basis of human disease.
